When I was 15 years old living in San Antonio, I saw a picture on a plaque of a girl who had dark hair, in pigtails, blue eyes, wearing a plaid blouse, blue jeans, and moccasins, with the little eagle on the toes. I said, "Someday I am going to marry that girl." The girl in the plaque was from Iowa. When I was 29, I looked up from playing pool, and saw a girl standing in the doorway watching me, talking on the phone. She had dark hair, in pigtails, blue eyes, a plaid blouse, blue jeans, and brown moccasins with little eagles on the toes. I said "Hello". One thing lead to another and we got married. That was 36 years ago now. Incidentally, she is from Iowa.Later I envisioned having my own business washing windows, and doing janitorial work. I kept wondering how I was going to do it, because I had one leg in a cast from an oil field accident. I had to learn how to walk all over again. But things worked out, and my business became a reality. We stayed in business for about 4 years. Then the bottom fell out for oil rigs, and we went out of business.I moved to the big city and started getting any job I could find. I envisioned myself working in law enforcement. Everyone said that I needed a college education to do such a thing. However, I kept seeing the vision. One thing lead to another, and I started working in law enforcement. 22 years later I finally retired. Some things took time to come true, but they all came true.So don't get discouraged when it doesn't happen right away.Remember it took 14 years for me to meet my girl from Iowa, but she did appear.I had completely forgotten about that wish, until I looked up from the pool table, and bam it hit me, there she was standing in the doorway. Now I am envisioning having the funds to fix my fence and buy new furniture for my living room. The little woman wants one of those fancy "Memory foam" beds too.So all I can tell you is that The Secret works. Against all odds, things have come true for me, and I can tell you from experience, you are only hindered by your thoughts, or by giving up.Hang in there, your dreams will come true if you don't give up.It did for me.
