Healthy Tips and Tricks for Day to Day life

Tips On How To Lower Blood Sugar Levels

These are the days most of the people suffer from varied bodily diseases just because of the elevated blood sugar level. Some of them are easily and totally cured by proper treatment, some others endured with simple adjustments, a few maintained cleverly with a little care and effort and others not known what to do. Among these much concern is to know how to deal with diabetes. This is because diabetes which is otherwise known as ''lifestyle disease'' is not a lonely problem but entangling together promoting many diseases hidden internally and severing them one by one gradually. So, it needs to take much care to lower blood sugar levels.

To know how to maintain normal blood sugar levels is indeed an art which can be learnt with a little effort by self study as well as following the medical guidelines. Self study helps to identify blood sugar symptoms, know recommended and restricted foods for high blood sugar. It is a talent with some persons to fix the right diets for diabetes by own experiences simultaneously following diabetic medication. Own real life experience certainly helps much more than the prescription by the physician to control and lower blood sugar levels.

Tips to control blood sugar:
It is rather a secret than rules to follow. The cause and effects are studied by self and recorded if only necessary or otherwise sufficient to remember to recall. The things to mind are:
Diet: Balanced, energizing, less calories, fiber content, fatless, dehydrogenated vegetables, etc.
Life style: Planned and divided meals, natural foods, oil free cooking, boiled foods, leaves, etc
Habits: Drinking more water, avoiding butter content snacks, no smoking & drinks, etc.
Exercise: Physical exercise, fast walking, yoga practice, breathing exercise for respiratory system, hobbies, meditation for mind rest, etc.
Taking things easier: Adjustments, free from stressful situations, worries, anger, emotions, etc
Day time sleep: Avoiding day time bed sleep, being lazy all the time, etc.
Medication: Only if absolutely necessary in case the above five tips cannot be followed

As concluding words, it is by initiating healthy changes in own lifestyle, one can be sure to maintain normal blood sugar count. Diabetes is really not a disease but something lagging behind in health activities. It implies a deficiency of insulin in the body to convert the saturated glucose into energy. This can be easily achieved by psychologically being convinced that self study of the diabetes can help accordingly to lower blood sugar levels. Certainly medication alone can serve nothing towards the anticipated goal. Monitoring and studying the cause and effects of diabetes and gaining sufficient practical knowledge in this regard would help a lot for controlling diabetes and enjoy a happy life without any related problems.

Client Testimony

“I was at my max and didn't realize my health was this large. I don't owe it all to It Works because I did work hard. But now I can remain the person I am simply because of It Works. Living healthy and loving every minute of it! I take Regular, Greens and New You and I have wrapped about 4 times. I had stomach issues even after a scope being ran into my tummy by a specialist still giving me no answers. Then I was invited to a wrap party. Which I didn't want to go to. But I did. I wrapped after I signed to sell only seeing that my body inside seemed to be 100% better. With my Regular and Greens I now have zero problems at all. After all I went through with doctors and horrid attacks in my stomach. This stuff has definitely changed my life."

I'm Sick of being Sick (literally)

Sick of being sick... Where do I begin?

Since moving to the upper Midwest it seems that all I've been is sick; Sinus infection, diabetes, cold, acute bronchitis, migraines. My motto has been "I just can't get right".

In the last 45 days I've seen my doctor more times than I've seen my own family. I've taken more prescription meds than they're are spots on a leopard. I'm sure I could tell you the aside effects of all of them, too. Is it bad or good that the pharmacist knows me? Very nice and helpful by the way. She just loves our last name: Coach.

Not only have I had to change my diet, but I've never had to take so many pills with food! It seems like I'm constantly eating or I'm constantly taking pills. I guess its really both.

And again my poor husband. He is such a good sport. If only I could get him to pick up the slack like the laundry, the dishes and making the bed. I got tickled at his comment tonight: "Babe, when you're sick, so is the house. Its like everything just exploded. Things are everywhere". I can't really complain too much. He does make dinner; and I'm not talking take out.

I'm just sick. Sick of being sick and literally I am just plain sick. It seems that once I get over an illness, here comes another. Except for the diabetes. That will never go away. So, I'm constantly gonna be dealing with medication.  I might as well focus on the good: pharmacist, husband, doctor, and the Prayers from my family and their support.

God only gives us what we can handle and his plans make sense to him, for his reasons, not ours. As Joyce Meyers says "God carries us through tough times so that we can help someone else".

Looks like I'm just gonna have to suck it up and be grateful that I have health; I'm still breathing.  :-)

In Sickness and In Health- I'm Diabetic

So a couple of weeks have gone by now and I still have diabetes.  :-(

No, I didn't really think it would go away; I think I am still in shock. I mean I'm not obese. I don't eat fat food. I watch my daily diet. I drink water. I exercise on a regular basis...

With all of that to take in; learning to eat a little more differently and don't Stress (Wow, that last word is a dirty one) I still seem to struggle.

I'm the kind of person who likes to succeed. I go over the top-100%. I raise the scale. So taking it slow to learn about my new status has me going bonkers!

My poor husband is handling me pretty well. I mean he seems to be more understanding. He's always been sweet, kind and Loving, but he is more gentle now. "in sickness and in health".

I've been talking with other diabetics and family. I've had lots of support and I thank God everyday for all of the prayers. But it's still tough.

Who knows in a month or two I'll probably be saying this is a piece of cake!

Stay tuned....

Just me.... Trying to look good for my husband

Occasionally my husband will request a certain outfit he loves. The clothes show off a particular "asset". . . And occasionally I will do it. Because I love him. He loves me. We choose things that make us happy and we do what we believe will the make our partner happy. Even if that means wearing an outfit the other thinks is sexy.

I did get lots of compliments throughout the day. So all in all his choice for me was a good one. Good move, Honey. I love you.

My husband's love for his daughter

First off let me say it pains me to write this blog, but I feel I need the therapy and to get it off my chest.

I met my husband six years ago via his sister, a former employee. When telling me about him she said he had two children-boy n girl, Divorced, etc., then a few days later she told me about his other daughter, but it was such a painful loss they don't usually talk about her. She is not deceased she was just taken by her mother, married another and for 8 years claimed he was their daughters father.

Within a couple months of dating, his daughter coincidentally contacts him and says she wants to be in his life. She is was 14. This was great, but it seems we will find out through experience, that her in n out of his life, tantrums, jealousy and blame is primarily at the hands of her mother. Apparently after my husbands divorce he n his daughter's mother started seeing each other, only she was still married. Stringing him along that she too was getting a divorce. So it was really no surprise when she threw her own tantrum: when we started dating, when we moved in together, and when we got married. She constantly called him asking him to take her back; she was divorcing her husband. One week before our wedding (something we kept quiet to her) she called to tell him she was divided. It was in fact true, but she was too late. After 3 months she went back to her ex-husband; exhausted that he was staying with me. Many of those times she would throw in their daughter, which is why we believe she feels she is always fighting for his love.

Over the past six years, his daughter has only contacted him when she wants something, usually material or money, but not to share in his/our life. (she did attend our wedding and the only thing she focused on was my ring.) He reaches out to her and depending on her time, she will accept, but most if the time she is with her friends. But when she asks for money and he refuses her she goes into a tantrum blaming him, saying he doesn't love her, that her step-father has been more of a Dad, etc. placing blame that he buys me everything, it's not fair that he spends his money on me. Asking why he chooses me over her. Etc., etc., etc.

It makes me sad that she feels the need to throw these tantrums. That the only way she feels justified, for whatever reason, is to make her Dad feel shame. It has quite the opposite effect actually. It infuriates him, but he does not give in to her. Instead he defends me saying "she is my wife. If I want to do for her, I can". Now don't start thinking well he could spoil her too, but when he has given her his time, or things, she only wants more and appears to mis-interpret his love. It's as if she is comparing me to her, as if she keeps score. He got me this, he got her that. . . This anger she throws at him, using me, seems to happen every six months.

He is willing to help her, but he wants her to have some goals and a life plan. It's really tearing him apart and I'm afraid it might divide us. I send up my prayers every time asking that their relationship be mended.

I tell him many times that I see such potential in her. She was a great softball player and could have had a full scholarship, but chose to be a walk on instead and work part time. She only finished one semester and decided to work full time. Within 1 month of my husband paying off her sweet 16 birthday car, her then boyfriend totaled it; they failed to put insurance on it. Another thing her mother blames us for. In May 2011, we nearly lost her in the Joplin tornado, but that didn't tear her down. In fact, it seemed to make her stronger than ever. She moved away from her hometown to live with an aunt. She appeared to be growing up, taking responsibility, but then lost her job because of attendance. As a favor I contacted 3 former employers to help her get job interviews. She decided to move back home to love with her family... She is 19 going on 20 works in a coffeehouse and lives with her new boyfriend. She has no plans to return to school or to pursue a career, yet she wants her Dad to pay for a brand New car, her cell phone, and occasionally rent.

If I were to keep score this would be my list: everything he has given her in the past six years has been out of love. What he has given me over the past six years has also been out of love. It seems we're even.

It breaks my heart to see them lose each other this way. It breaks my heart that she can't see or feel his love because of jealousy. As mentioned earlier, I think it's fueled by her mother. . .

I will continue to keep the faith, pray and support my husband. I will continue to pray for her to find what makes her happy.

Zumba!

I went to my first Zumba class in six months! It felt great to get back in step, again. Literally. I had such a good time. The music was good and the steps were easy to pick up. I was soo proud of me! Yay Me!  :-)

I didn't realize how much I missed Zumba. I also didn't realize how quickly I remembered the moves. Our Zumba instructor is pretty cool. She's definitely upbeat, which makes a big difference. I plan on returning....

Hopefully as long a the weather stays good I can make it to class. My mustang is not the best for snow or ice.

Crossing my fingers that this will also help with my diabetes.

Clubhouse Jewelery Gift

My 11-year-old bonus daughter gifted me this cute leopard print hanging jewelry organizer for Christmas. I love it! I finally unpacked my jewelry and organized it. It certainly freed up some space in my jewelry armoire, too. I really needed it.

She told me that she remembered something I said to her when we were together at Thanksgiving, so she took "my like" and gifted it to me.

It hangs on the wall so it's visible and out of the way. Perfect fit for my clubhouse.

My First Carhartt Jeans

My husband and I were at the Mall of America and one of our stops is always the Carhartt store. You see my husband is a Boilermaker and he lives in Carhartt- work and leisure.

I'll admit I'm a foo-foo girl. Always have been, always will be. But when I saw these jeans-dark washed, low rise n boot cut-I had to get them! Plus they were on clearance for only $9.99!

My husband couldn't have been more pleased with me. Heck he even paid for them. ($10) lol

So here we are... Foo-foo girl in hard working man gear- chic man gear.  :-)

Just me..out for Sunday brunch

Mossimo (Target) black blazer, black tunic from Gap, Ann Taylor jeans and "Harley" biker boots with white knitted scarf from Old Navy, plaid newsboy cap and my own hand sewn mittens.

From Trash to Treasures

Re-purposed and re-polished: 3-tiered silver serving 'tea' tray to Sterling silver "jewelry" organizer. Unique Thrift shop $2.92.

This little thrift store find adds a little frosting to my classic, old world bedroom. The tray is situated next to my wardrobe mirror and allows me to easily access those last-minute outfit accents. Not to mention it's cute, affordable, and serves a fashion purpose.

12 Tips for Beautiful Eyes

Enhance the beauty of your eyes with right kind of makeup. The perfect eye makeup can bring the desired attention to your face while serious flaws in the makeup can bring only negative appraisal. Therefore, it is essential to understand certain facts about eye makeup and become a head turner with your make up skills.

Here are 12 tips for beautiful eyes:
1. The type of eye makeup largely depends upon your skin tone as well as on the color of your eyes. Remember this basic rule and you will never fail. It is a myth that your eye makeup depends upon the color of your dress. In fact, it should match up with your personality.
2. Eye shadow can add high definition to your eyes. Women with dark skin tones should choose darker eye shadows like, brown, bronze and green shades whereas the fair skin tones can choose pink, blue and silver for eye shadow.
3. Those who are blessed with beautiful green eyes would look attractive in green undertones of eye shadow and those with blue tones would look best in blue tones of eye shadow. Brown and plum tones would be suitable for those women who have brown eyes.
4. Lighter shades highlight the eyes and make them appear larger while darker shades minimize the look. You can emphasize your eyes by combining both light and darker shades.
5. Neutral colors like browns, beige, gray, taupe and ivory suit all the eye colors and provide a soft and natural look.
6. Brown colored eyes can play with different shades to give distinct look every time. Use of light shades like peaches and pinks combined with dark eye liner highlight brown eyes really well. You can also use darker shade along with light color to brighten your eyes. Coordinate these two shades with metallic color eye shadow such as gold to give a new dimension to your look. The real trick lies in blending the colors artistically and flawlessly.
7. If you wish to use eye shadow then avoid using expired products or products that are more than a year old. Invest in new collection of new shades available in the market.
8. Buy two or three shades of eye shadow that can gel well together. Use of too many color shades may not bring out the desired results. You may blend two colors to give an interesting look to your eyes. For example, for a fair skin tone, the use of a metallic color like silver when blended with light color say light blue can create magic if applied carefully.
9. Remember to apply some base before starting your eye makeup so as to make it last longer. However, there is no need of base if you want Smokey eye makeup.
10. If you wish to have a more see-through finish then you may apply the eye shadow with dry brush. But, if you aim to have a heavy and opaque look then, dampen the brush and then use it to apply the eye shadow.
11. For a more adventurous appearance of eyes then apply the same colored eye shadow on the lower lash line.
12. Beautiful eyes are incomplete without proper eyebrow shapes. Emphasize your eyebrows with eyebrow pencil in black or brown color. The pencil should have a fine tip before you define your brows. You can either get your eyebrows waxed or tweezed as per your preference.

7 steps to make your eyes sparkle

Eye makeup requires patience and time. Each step has to be followed with precision to make your eyes sparkle. Here is the summary of steps to follow:
1. Use a base to prepare your eyes and skin area.
2. Apply a neutral shade of eye shadow from lash to brow.
3. Then pick a medium toned eye shadow and apply it in the crease and work it up to the brow bone. Clean finishing is important.
4. Now, apply the darker eye shadow of the same color on the outer corner of the eye lids. For a more dramatic look apply some shimmery shadow in the inner corners of the eyes.
5. Apply some eye liner on the upper lid. A black gel eye liner adds depth to the eyes.
6. Apply mascara on the upper eye lashes till the outer corners of the eyes. You may experiment with the different colors of the mascara for interesting look.
7. Blue mascara would suit blue eyes while gray charcoal or brown color would suit brown eyes.

An important point is to have a wrinkle free and healthy skin around your eyes. Try to achieve a young looking eyes and skin to look attractive.

Precaution and important tips for eye care:

Use tea bags or cucumber slices to soothe your eyes and skin around your eyes. You may also splash water on your eyes frequently to provide comfort to your tired eyes.

If you work continuously on the computer then try some eye exercises to keep your eyes healthy. It would also help to relieve the stressed out muscles of your face. Flutter your eyes for few seconds after every half an hour.

Diabetes may cause many skin care problems

About 35% of people suffering from diabetes have a skin condition or disorder of some kind. Diabetes, be it type 1 or type 2, affects our internal organs of body and can results in a wide array of conditions that affects the skin. Fortunately most of these skin conditions are easily treated or may disappear once the blood sugar level is brought under control.

When there is too much sugar in the blood, body tends to eliminate it from our body through our kidney with increased urination. Frequent urination reduces water level in the body and sometimes may lead to dehydration.  It also reduces the water supply to the skin thus diminishing its moisture content which is essential to maintain healthy skin. Lack of moisture content in the skin can lead to skin cracks, yeast infection and itching due to dryness in the skin. Cracks in the skin allow bacteria and other infectious agents to enter the body. If these infections are not treated at the initial stage serous medical conditions can occur.

Diabetic neuropathy leads to lack of sweating resulting in dry skin. Dry skin can be treated by applying skin lotion or homemade hydrating recipes, masks or packs. One of the facial mask recipes to replenish your dry skin and its deeper layers, leaving your skin feeling hydrated and looking healthy and glowing, is given below.

Egg and Honey Hydrating Facial Mask for dry skin

Ingredients:

A. 1 egg.
B. 1/4 cup of coconut oil
C. 1 teaspoon of honey

Scramble the egg and gradually add honey and coconut oil. The mass should look like mayonnaise. If it is too thick, add more coconut oil. If it is too runny, add a bit more honey. Pour the mass into a plastic cup, close the cup tightly, and leave in the fridge overnight.

This mask is ready to be applied the next day. Scoop up some of the mask and freely apply all over the face. Leave it to rest for 10 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. Keep the rest of the mask in the freezer and use any time your dried and tired face needs a moisture boost.

Diabetes dermopathy results in changes in small blood vessels that supply the skin causing light brown patches/ shin spot or pigmented patches similar in appearance to the age spots. These patches usually found on the lower legs of people with diabetes. These patches do not hurt, crack or itch. Due to high blood sugar blood vessels are narrowed which results in decreased blood supply to the skin and other body areas resulting in thinning and hairless skin in the legs and prone to developing ulcer. This skin conditions is called atherosclerosis.  In these conditions healing process of wound is slowed down and can even develop gangrene.

Vitiligo is another skin condition that is linked to diabetes type-1. Vitiligilo is the condition that affects skin coloration. With vitiligo special cells that control skin color are destroyed, resulting in patches of discolored skin. Treatment options for vitiligo are steroids, ultraviolet light treatments and micro pigmentation. You should apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen to prevent sunburns on discolored skin.

How I originally began selling It Works!

After 14+ years, I lost my career as a casino executive/director and instead of returning to corporate America I found a way to build my own at-home business, with It Works! Global. Using social media and online marketing to pave the way, I have added multiple independent distributors to my team and continue to train/recruit new teammates everyday.

As a home business owner, I'm making magic happen all around; as an independent distributor for It Works! Global. I'm working from home to show thousands of other struggling moms, dads and students how I built my home business in our struggling economy. I originally began selling It Works! products one year ago as a way to supplement my less-than-impressive income, but quickly realized what a unique opportunity It Works! Global had to offer my family. It wasn't long before I decided to go “all-in” with my It Works! business. My husband loaned me the dollars and I purchased my starter kit. It was that simple.

I then started blogging and expanding my presence on the Internet to share my story, connect with new teammates, and gather interested leads for wrap parties. Using my blog and various social media outlets like Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter as platforms to post personal experiences with my business and leadership tips.

At 40 years old, I'm on my way to becoming a top money earner in the company with no plans of slowing down. “I was in the same boat as a lot of families before beginning my business. I know how many people are in debt because of the economy and they should know there is a way out".

To learn more about Me and It Works Global, you can visit my blog http://thebrownskinnygirl.Blogspot.com/ and any of my social media profiles, or you can host your own wrap party.

I'm wanna help you make your dreams a reality and you a success!

Organic Snacks

Since being diagnosed with diabetes I have been eating New, lighter versions of my meals n snacks.

Its not that I've been eating unhealthy, I just know that I need to try some New foods.

It took me a year to lose about 20 pounds and I certainly don't want to add it back while getting my diabetes under control. That would be a double trouble.

So my New snack for today is: yogurt with organic grain cereal n bananas.

Healthy lunch memory

I used to eat these sandwiches when I was a kid. I remember asking for seconds.

The Secret is real, how do I know? Because I am living it.

By J. Prewett
from Arlington, Texas

When I was 15 years old living in San Antonio, I saw a picture on a plaque of a girl who had dark hair, in pigtails, blue eyes, wearing a plaid blouse, blue jeans, and moccasins, with the little eagle on the toes. I said, "Someday I am going to marry that girl." The girl in the plaque was from Iowa. When I was 29, I looked up from playing pool, and saw a girl standing in the doorway watching me, talking on the phone. She had dark hair, in pigtails, blue eyes, a plaid blouse, blue jeans, and brown moccasins with little eagles on the toes. I said "Hello". One thing lead to another and we got married. That was 36 years ago now. Incidentally, she is from Iowa.Later I envisioned having my own business washing windows, and doing janitorial work. I kept wondering how I was going to do it, because I had one leg in a cast from an oil field accident. I had to learn how to walk all over again. But things worked out, and my business became a reality. We stayed in business for about 4 years. Then the bottom fell out for oil rigs, and we went out of business.I moved to the big city and started getting any job I could find. I envisioned myself working in law enforcement. Everyone said that I needed a college education to do such a thing. However, I kept seeing the vision. One thing lead to another, and I started working in law enforcement. 22 years later I finally retired. Some things took time to come true, but they all came true.So don't get discouraged when it doesn't happen right away.Remember it took 14 years for me to meet my girl from Iowa, but she did appear.I had completely forgotten about that wish, until I looked up from the pool table, and bam it hit me, there she was standing in the doorway. Now I am envisioning having the funds to fix my fence and buy new furniture for my living room. The little woman wants one of those fancy "Memory foam" beds too.So all I can tell you is that The Secret works. Against all odds, things have come true for me, and I can tell you from experience, you are only hindered by your thoughts, or by giving up.Hang in there, your dreams will come true if you don't give up.It did for me.

Most reduced and low-calorie beverages, tabletop sweeteners and foods contain aspartame as an ingredient. Aspartame is a low-calorie compound containing two amino acids namely phenylalanine and aspartic acid. It is used to sweeten products because it has a similar taste to sugar. Creative re-does: mens shirts

Ever wonder what to do with those shirts your husband doesn't wear anymore? Or that one shirt you bought him for father's day, birthday or Christmas and he just doesn't wear it. (Ya i have some of those.) They usually end up in the donate pile. Well I'm here to tell you, you can re-fashion them!

Turn them into aprons or shirts or even little girl dresses. Heck you can even cut em up and make em into dust rags.

Jackets! Blazers! Coats!

Whatever you call them.... I love them all. Colors, styles, lengths, embellishments. They can be dressed up or down, worn for interviews, dinner or to just stay warm. They can be worn in the spring, summer, fall or winter.
